“I wanted to try Botox to address frown lines; I’m only late 30s so I also wanted to prevent further lines appearing as I frown a lot. I was quite nervous as I haven’t had any treatment like this before but the lady at the welcome desk and Mr Hodges made me feel completely at ease and comfortable. The procedure was quick, easy and almost painless. The results are showing now and I’m really pleased.”

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are soft, clear, synthetic gels made from hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance that provides volume to the skin. When injected beneath the skin’s surface, dermal fillers act by binding to water molecules and help maintain volume. This is the method by which they restore volume to the skin.

Restylane, Juvederm and Teoxane are the hyaluronic acid dermal fillers brands used in the clinic. These established brands hold the clinical data to support their positions as market leaders in this field. Their products are extremely advanced and can adapt to tissue types to integrate seamlessly, enhancing natural expression and giving long lasting results. With over 200 brands of dermal fillers now available, cheaper alternatives are unlikely to come with the same levels of clinical research, safety and proven effectiveness.

Why Have Dermal Filler Treatment?

A common sign of ageing is a loss of facial volume, which, combined with muscle activity, can lead to the development of wrinkles, lines and sagging. Introducing volumising dermal fillers will re-contour and give a smoother, fuller appearance to the nasolabial folds (lines between the nose and mouth), cheeks, jawline, and lips. Medium to deep lines, folds and facial depressions can be filled to achieve remarkable results.

When administered by an experienced doctor, dermal fillers can subtly rejuvenate the following areas –

  • Cheeks and Mouth: Folds, lines and creases may be addressed by the careful administration of dermal fillers to effectively restore symmetry, volume and shape.
  • Lip Augmentation: Dermal fillers can enhance not only the size, but also the proportion and projection of the lips.
  • Jaw Line: Dermal fillers can be used to achieve a more defined, angular jaw line.

Consultation and Treatment Plan:

A detailed initial consultation with the doctor is key to ensuring great results. The consultation will include your medical history, examination and the opportunity to discuss what you would like to achieve. Based on this, the doctor will establish a bespoke treatment plan to help you realistically achieve your aesthetic goals.

You may be advised to have different treatments over a period of time to gradually achieve optimal results. This is the safest approach and enables the doctor and client to work together to achieve great results.

Treatment:

Treatment involves a series of injections into the dermis, or middle layer of the skin, in the areas to be treated. Local anaesthetic is contained in the dermal fillers to reduce any discomfort during the procedure. Compared to Botox treatment, dermal filler treatment can be slightly more uncomfortable and take a little longer due to the viscosity of the fillers. There may be some redness and swelling following treatment, however, this usually subsides after a few hours. Occasionally there may be bruising at the injection site.

Aftercare:

Dermal filler aftercare information is emailed to clients following their treatment and they are advised to contact the clinic if they have any queries following their treatment. We offer complimentary post treatment reviews should any client wish to discuss the results of their treatment with the doctor.

Results:

Dermal fillers show immediate results however there will be inflammation in the area due to the injections. Due to this and the need of the fillers to take time to settle, the full benefits can take up to two weeks to become apparent. At this stage there will be a visible benefit with restored volume and smoother skin.

Maintenance of Results:

Due to the quality of the dermal filler products used in the clinic, results typically last for up to six months, often much longer. Clients are advised to return to the clinic at specific intervals for follow-up treatment. The benefits of dermal filler treatment is temporary and will gradually wear off in the absence of maintenance treatment. Regular treatment is key to maximising the long-term effectiveness of the results.

Combat Tired Looking Eyes with Tear Trough Fillers!

Before and After Tear Trough Filler Treatment

As we age and the skin loses collagen, it is common to experience a loss of volume in the eye area. This typically results in fine lines, wrinkles and dark circles under the eyes leading to a general tired appearance to the face.

Fortunately, tear trough filler injections offer an effective, non-surgical solution to revitalise the under eye area.

The tear trough region refers to the part of the eye that extends from the inner eye margin to the upper cheek. A loss of volume in this area can be restored by the careful administration of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. When expertly injected into the under eye area, they can effectively boost collagen production in the skin, restore volume and hydrate the area to give a smoother, less sunken and more youthful appearance.

Consultation and Treatment Plan:

A detailed initial consultation with the doctor is key to ensuring great results. The consultation will include your medical history, examination and the opportunity to discuss what you would like to achieve. Why have lip fillers? A common sign of ageing is a loss of volume of the lips that can lead to a flatter, thinner appearance. The borders and definition of the lips may also reduce leading to a tired appearance.

Irrespective of ageing, others may simply desire to have a fuller, more contoured appearance to their lips.

Before embarking on non-surgical injectable treatments, the following points should be considered to ensure the treatment you receive is safe, you achieve the desired results and avoid complications:

  • Who is doing the treatment, how experienced are they, what is their profession and their qualifications?
  • What product is being used for treatment and how long has it been on the market? Are the long term effects known? Cheaper prices often mean cheaper products are used for injecting.
  • What type of premises are the treatments being offered from? Anti-ageing injectables are medical procedures and the environment in which they are administered should reflect this.
  • Avoid special offers and surprisingly cheap prices. It against regulations to offer special offers and discounts in relation to prescribed medicines. Your service provider should have regard for regulations.

Can I discuss my options with the doctor before committing to treatment?
It is important to be comfortable with all aspects of treatment prior to proceeding and committing to anti-ageing injectables. As such, we offer initial consultations with our doctors to discuss your suitability for treatment and also to give you a projection of the realistic results that you should expect to achieve.

How qualified is the practitioner?

The dermal fillers will gradually be degraded by the body’s own mechanisms and will disappear without residue. Once the dermal fillers fully wear off, the results of treatment will also fully and gradually disappear.
